-
NEW YORK (December 10, 2012) - A special edition of DiBella Entertainment's popular "Broadway Boxing" series will air live on FIGHT NOW TV-
America's only 24-hour combat sports and entertainment channel -
December 19, starting at 9 p.m. ET, from the historic Roseland Ballroom
in midtown Manhattan. A portion of the proceeds from the show will be
donated to victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The 10-round main event features light heavyweight Will "Power" Rosinsky (16-2, 9 KOs), fighting out of Queens (NY), against former USBA champion Otis "Triple OG" Griffin (24-10-2, 10 KOs).
Also fighting on the broadcast in a pair of eight-round bouts are red-hot Los Angeles-based lightweight prospect Ivan Redkach (12-0, 11 KOs) versus New York State champion Edward "Tyson" Valdez (11-8-2, 8 KOs), while Brooklyn junior welterweight Gabriel "Tito" Bracero (20-1, 3 KOs) takes on veteran Johnnie "The Lumberjack" Edwards (15-5-1, 8 KOs).
"Our
viewers love watching 'Broadway Boxing' shows because it always
features entertaining boxers in highly-competitive fights," said FIGHT
NOW TV Co-Founder & General Manager Mike Garrow.
"Airing a show like this during the holiday season, live from Broadway,
especially where it is supporting a great cause for Hurricane Sandy
victims, seems like a great way to close out our very successful 2012
FIGHT NOW TV boxing season.
A
four-time New York Golden Gloves winner, as well as a 2005 U.S.
National amateur champion, Rosinksy is an Emergency Medical Technician
(EMT) at FDNY's station in East New York, Brooklyn. He will be out to
rebound from back-to-back losses in nationally televised fights to world
title contender Edwin Rodriguez and former world champion Kelly Pavlik.
Griffin is best known as the winner of Oscar de la Hoya's "The Next Great Champ" reality television show. The Sacramento native has defeated world champion Byron Mitchell and he went the distance with Jeff Lacy, Cedric Agnew, Shawn Hawk and Yusaf Mack.
As
a professional prizefighter, Ukrainain-born Redkach has put 11 of his
12 victims to sleep, including the last three in the opening round. The
lone fighter Redkach failed to stop lost due to disqualification for
excessive holding. His opponent, Valdez, is battle-tested having fought
top prospects such as Luis Joel Gonzalez, Chris Algieri, Carney Bowman, Antonio Espinosa and Matt Remillard.
Popular
Puerto Rican fighter Bracero, a former North American Boxing Federation
(NABF) champion, is back on track with two straight victories since he
suffered his lone pro loss this past January to former world champion DeMarcus Corley. Edwards, who holds two wins over two-time world champion Freddie Norwood, has been stopped only once in 21 fights, to rising star Yuriokis Gamboa.
Some
of the other fights on the Dec. 19th "Broadway Boxing" card, or
highlights, may also be televised on FIGHT NOW TV, pending time
availability.
