MOSHI, KILIMANJARO, UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA, JAN. 08, 2014: The Diamond producing nation of Botswana would soon host an awesome major professional boxing tournament after the world professional boxing top-cat, the IBF offered Botswana's beloved son Lesley Sekotswe to vie for its vacant International bantamweight Title.

Sokotswe who packed virulent punches with satire attitude in the ring a she approaches his opponents, was a school teacher turned a paid ranks boxer with a long history with his country’samateur national team.

This will be the second time trial for Sekotswe for the same title after drawing against its former champion and Namibian Immanuel “Prince” Naidjala in March 20, in Windhek, Nam ibia.

The tournament is expected to rejuvenate Botswana’s pro ranks fortunesafter Mr. Bond Ngubula alias 007 put his weight on the trade. Under the Bond Boxing Promotion, Ngubula pitched his inaugural tournament in Gaborone, last October 5, 2013 which saw a number of highly experienced Botswana’s amateur boxersmaking their maiden entry to the pro ranks.

Lesley Sekotswe began his professional boxing career in 09, April, 2009 against South African Johannes Nthontho at Phakalane Golf Estate, Gaborone, Botswana and won by TKO in the 2nd round of their 4 rounder bout.

In October 1st, same year he travelled to Windhoek, Namibia and did a fine job at Ongwediva Trade Fair Centre, Ongwediva, Namibia by stopping Petaneni Elago in the 1st round of their 4 rounder tourney.

Victim number 3 was South African Arnold Matje who lost on points of their 4 rounder bout at Phakalane Golf Estate, Gaborone, Botswana in 08, December 2005.

In 07 August 2007 Sekotswe moved to 6 rounder bouts and humiliated another South African Peter Ndou in the 1st round in Jabulani Mall, Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa and then moved on to maul Albert Mudau another South Africa by KO in round 1 of their 6 rounder tourney at the famous Emperors Palace, Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa.

By this time, the young and furious Sekotswe had made his point as a short distance boxer and Africa started to take a note in that he did a good job on Siyabulela Ziqula by outpointing him in their 6 rounder bout at Wembley Indoor Arena, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa in November 09, 2007.

He did a hurried job on Shadrack Makama by KO in the 1t round of their 8 rounde bout at the Carousel Hotel & Casino, Temba, and North-West, South Africa in 22nd Feb. 2008.

By this time, several boxing bodies started to have interests ion Lesley and in 25 July 2008 he was given a shot at the All African bantamweight title against much experienced South African boxer Simon Ramoni and TKO him in the 9th round of their 12 rounder bout.

Lesley Sekotswe defended his All African title in 18 April 2009 against Nkosana Sobethu at the North-West University Sports Complex, Mafikeng, and North-West, South Africa and KO him in the 6 round of their 12 rounder bouts.

The Botswana’s wonder Boy took a long trip to Mexico and draw against Mexico’s famous boxer Javier Romano at the World Trade Center, Boca del Rio, Veracruz, Mexico the in 24 October 2009, the fight which many boxing fans thought that Lesley was a clear winner but the judges thought otherwise.

Lesley returned to Africa and did a shirt job on Simon Mbande of South Africa at the International Convention Centre, East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa in 26 March 2010.

He stayed for at least two years in active and on 20th March 2013 he met Immanuel “Prince’ Naidjala of Namibia for the vacant IBF International Bantamweight title and drew. Lelsey had other commitments so he could not make it for a return fight against Naidjala.

Now that the title fell vacant again Lesley is a man to watch in 2014 as he position himself to contest for this highly rated title among the IBF family of titles.
