LAFLARE’S PACE COULD BE EDGE OVER MAIA AT UFC FIGHT NIGHT THIS SATURDAY, SAYS FOX UFC ANALYST EVANS

The UFC returns to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with FOX SPORTS 1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: MAIA VS. LAFLARE on Saturday, March 21 (10:00 PM ET), with a stacked card featuring a five-round main event battle between welterweight contenders No. 7 Demian Maia (19-6) and No. 14 Ryan LaFlare (11-0). Owner of four wins at welterweight, former middleweight title challenger Maia is in top form after his 2014 victory against Alexander Yakovlev. In LaFlare, Maia faces a rising star whose unbeaten slate includes four UFC wins. FOX UFC analyst Rashad Evans believes LaFlare will test Maia. “We train together at the Blackzilians and it is pace, pace, pace with LaFlare. He has unorthodox striking, but it’s greatly improved under the coach Henry Hooft, who’s got him sharp, but still lets him use that awkwardness that makes him so dangerous.
