MILLER: “I’M LOOKING TO PUT [CERRONE] AWAY EARLY.”

Cormier on how Miller should fight Cerrone: “He’s got to use wrestling to get in close, take some shots and make it a dirty fight.”

UFC FIGHT NIGHT: CERRONE VS. MILLER Preview, Plus Miller Interviews on UFC TONIGHT

LOS ANGELES, CA – On UFC TONIGHT, host Kenny Florian and guest host Daniel Cormier preview the upcoming UFC FIGHT NIGHT: CERRONE VS. MILLER and interview headliner Jim Miller. Plus, Ariel Helwani and Karyn Bryant add reports.

UFC TONIGHT’s Kenny Florian on Donald Cerrone fighting too much: “It’s his third fight in 2014. He has to be careful that he doesn’t take too many fights in a row. He took some big shots from Barboza in his last fight. I always like to take some time off between fights. You can go back into training, but it’s hard to keep the intensity level up.”

UFC TONIGHT guest host Daniel Cormier on Jim Miller: “Jim Miller is a gritty veteran and he’s fighting in his home state. He’s been in there with the best of the world. He’s a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. He’s a determined guy with good wrestling. He’s the type of guy who can give Donald Cerrone problems. He has the ability to keep fight close, use Muay Thai, elbows, and has a diversity of skills. He’s got to use wrestling to get in close, take some shots and make it a dirty fight.”

Florian on Miller’s strengths: “He’s showed improvement in the clinch. He’s good at grinding out wins, throwing big elbows and is a big-time submission threat to Cerrone.”

Florian on why Cerrone will win: “Cerrone has the edge in striking. If he gets taken down, he’s very dangerous on his back. He can finish a fight on his feet or on the ground, and he’s going to win. Cerrone has great ability to keep guys on the outside with his kicks and jabs.”

Jim Miller on what a win over Cerrone means: “It keeps my career moving in the right direction. Donald is a tough opponent and those are the guys I’m looking to fight. I need to get the win and keep on rolling forward.”

Miller on why he hasn’t gotten to the title yet: “I was raking up fights pretty quickly. I’ve had 18 in under six years. It’s a fast pace at this level of competition. I was fighting top competition and the training camps were catching up for me. I was getting banged up.”

Miller on how he’ll get named recognition with this fight: “I want to put on another dominant performance. In the last two fights, my opponents didn’t get out of the first round. I’m looking to put him away early.”

Insider Ariel Helwani on Chris Weidman signing with new management: “He has signed with WME and Brad Slater, the agent who’s the agent of Ronda Rousey. He’s looking to work on film, TV, books, commercial endorsements and philanthropic endeavors. He also has a new manager in Shane McCassy of Manage Create.”

Helwani reports on Luke Rockhold’s next possible fight: “He’s been cleared to train after suffering a broken toe in his last fight. He wants to fight Vitor Belfort next, but if that fight doesn’t happen, he wants Chris Weidman.”

Helwani on Ronda Rousey’s injuries from UFC 175: “It was reported by the LA Times that she broke her thumb in the fight, but she will not need a cast or surgery. I was told by her team that she’ll have scope of her right knee on Tuesday and the recovery is two weeks, so she shouldn’t be out for too long.”

Helwani on Frankie Edgar’s next fight: “Frankie Edgar told me the fight that makes the most sense to him is Cub Swanson. They’re next to each other in the rankings and it’s the fight that will get him a title shot. I asked Cub about it, and Cub told me that he’s been promised a title shot, and last he checked, Frankie doesn’t have a title, but he would love to punch him.”
