British Bantamweight Champion Lee Haskins has been in spartan preparation for his upcoming international fight against dangerous Mexican Willy Velazquez. Haskins has been sparring with Robbie Turley who will be fighting Jamie Speight in a 10 round British Title eliminator.

Both Turley and Haskins are in must win fights and feel that sparring each other is the best preparation they can have, Lee Haskins had this to say on his Welsh training partner:

"Turley and I are very awkward customers but sparring each other is a fantastic way of keeping our reflexes sharp. He is bigger than I am so it means I have to be on top form in the ring with him, we've done a lot of rounds together and we're both looking in great shape."

The pair have also welcomed Bristol Boxing's Ashley Lane into their training camp as it was announced last week that he is to challenge for the vacant English Bantamweight title in Blackpool on December 12th. Lane was ecstatic about the opportunity and believes that sparring with the countries best will give him the edge over his opponent Ryan Farrag:

"I am sparring with the British Champion at my weight (Lee Haskins), no one in the country can give me better preparation than that! I believe my time is now and it feels good to be in a training camp where all of the boys are peaking around the same time. We're all in tip top condition and cannot wait to come back with a trio of wins."

Cefn Fforest’s Robbie Turley will be chief support will be against Torquay’s Jamie Speight in a British super bantamweight title eliminator. The fight card will feature 9 more fights featuring Bristol’s Dan Sarkozi and Liam Hunt. Débutantes Duane Winters, David Bailey and Josh Baker will also star alongside Cheddar’s boxing brothers Henry Smith and John Smith plus Swindon’s Ryan Martin and Cardiff's Frankie Borg.
