Weekend Boxing results. Jeffrey “Mongoose” Mathebula out-pointed 35-year-old Takalani Ndlovu over 12 rounds at Carnival City, in Brakpan, South Africa on Saturday to earn another crack the IBF featherweight title.
All three judges scored the bout 116-112 in favour of Mathebula.
In the second IBF title eliminator on the card bantamweight Vusi “Marvelous” Malinga outpointed highly-rated Filipino Diarh Gabutan by virtue of his aggression and ferocious punching power.
The brave but outgunned Gabutan fought to the bitter end and suffered numerous cuts. The scores were 117-111, 116-112 and 115-113 in favour of Malinga.
