Former WBC middleweight boxing champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has apologized for his recent drugs test failure via his official Twitter account.

"Any attempt to explain or justify the recent developments will be of little or no convincing, so I want to let everybody know that I take full responsibility for my actions and the consequences thereof," said Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. tested positive for marijuana after losing his title on points to Sergio Martinez on September 15.
