Alejandro Lopez (23-2, 7 KOs) became the IBF’s No.1 super
bantamweight at the El Paso County Coliseum in El Paso, Texas on
Saturday when he out-poined former world champion Takalani Ndlovu.
The scores were 116-111 twice and 117-112.
On the undercard, middleweight Abie Han (18-0, 12 KOs) remained
unbeaten when he took out Arsenio Terrazas (9-3, 8 KOs) in the opening
round. On the same card his sister Jennifer Han (8-2-1, 1 KO) was
floored on her way to losing a four round split decision to Claudia
Gutierrez (2-2) in a female super featherweight bout.
Light middleweight Glen Tapia (16-0, 9 KOs) won an eight round
unanimous decision over Dashon Johnson (13-8-3, 4 KOs). The scores were
79-73 twice and 78-74.
In a welterweight bout Brad Solomon (19-0, 7 KOs) was decked twice
in round one against against Yorgi Estrella (18-9-2, 7 KOs). but came
back strongly to win a eight round majority decision by scores of 77-73
and 75-75.
Matt Korobov (18-0, 10 KOs) scored a shutout eight round unanimous
decision win over Milton Nunez (24-6-1, 22 KOs). The scores were 80-72
on all three cards. In a super bantamweight bout Tramaine Williams won a
four round split decision against Raul Carrillo.
