If you believe Floyd Mayweather Snr, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez does not have a prayer when the WBC light middleweight champion defends his title against his son and undefeated pound for pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr when they clash at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 14. Floyd Snr insists that he has a spy at Alvarez’s Big Bear training camp in California and reports that the young Mexican is looking mightily impressive and destroying sparring partners for fun is vastly exaggerated.
The Showtime televised boxing event is the biggest of the year and as with all massive ppv shows rumors circulate and the Alvarez unofficial reports is just one of them.
“It’s a bunch of BS,” Floyd Sr. told hustleboss.com. “That’s all it is, a bunch of BS.” (Press play on the video embedded to the left to watch and hear the full interview now.)
“I’m getting knowledge myself of what’s going on,” Mayweather Sr. added. “I’m getting a whole bunch of knowledge of what’s going on. He tells his trainers what to do and his weight is still way up. Like I said, none of that stuff is true that they’re talking about.
“I’m just saying that, something is leaking somewhere. That’s all I’ve got to say. I’m not impressed. His ass is cooked, roasted.”
