Top-15 ranked welterweight contender Sebastian Lujan (29-5-2, 20 KOs) used his youth, strength and incredible workrate to pummel former lightweight world champion Jose Luis Castillo (56-9-1, 48 KOs) on ESPN2 Wednesday Night Fights. Jose Luis Castillo (56-9-1, 48 KOs) was making his welterweight debut and he looked smaller and slower than the bull like Lujan who snapped Castillo's head back with heavy leather throughout.

From the opening bell Lujan aggressively threw bombs at Castillo's stationary head and skinny body. Castillo was game throughout throwing his signature left hook to the body but he was unable to keep up with the Argentine's furious pace. Sebastian Lujan used an awkward, loose style with lots of head movement to outland Castillo 387 to 159 in total punches. Lujan punished Castillo with hard shots from awkward angles in every round. Jose Luis was on the defensive for most of the bout by allowing the hard-hitting Lujan to hammer away at his head and body without much in return.

Not to take anything away from the rugged Lujan, but the 34-year old Jose Luis Castillo looked pretty washed up compared to his former killer of a lightweight self. Final Scores read: 98-92, 99-91, 99-91 for Sebastian Lujan who proved himself to be a legit contender with his upset win over Castillo as an 8-5 boxing betting underdog.
