Tonight Lucian Bute will defend his I.B.F super-middleweight title against Librado Andrade in a rematch from their controversial fight in October of 2008. The HBO 12-round main event will be televised at 10 PM ET from Quebec, Canada. In their first fight Bute was well ahead on the judges scorecards until the 12th round when Bute was battered by Andrade from pillar to post in what should have been a stoppage KO for Andrade. Both fighters have had tune-up wins over fringe contenders to set up the rematch. The Lucian Bute vs. Librado Andrade Betting Line is Bute -400.

Lucian Bute is a tall southpaw with fast hands and excellent ring movement. In the first fight Bute was boxing a beautiful fight until Andrade’s pressure and body-punching wore him out. In this fight we expect the iron-chinned Andrade to again wear down the flashier Bute with his strength. Bute has done well against pressure fighters in the past but Andrade has very heavy hands and Bute showed in the first bout that Andrade’s power was too much for him to handle. The Lucian Bute vs. Librado Andrade Betting Line Total is at 11.5 rounds with the Over at -230.

Like the famous former heavyweight champion Joe Louis once said “They can run but they can’t hide,” and this will be the case with Bute against Andrade Saturday night. Bute will be able to outbox the slow-footed Andrade early but eventually the tide will shift. Even though Bute has more skill, Andrade has more power and determinatio making him a great value at +300.
