James Toney: “This fight means the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. I’ve been trying to fix this mess for years. Hasim is the best fight for me because he is the WBC champion. I’m like the devil…I like the fire. If there’s fire in the kitchen – I want to be there.”

“I’ve been in training for 2½ weeks. I came home from Cancun and I was a little plump (240 lbs.), but come mid-March I will be starving (217 lbs.) for the fight. He’s going to go down. I’m going to put the pain on him, that’s what I’m going to do.”

“I could win a decision but I will knock him out because it’s personal.”

“After the fight, we will party on the plane on the way home. And when I get home I will work on my suntan.”

WBC Heavyweight Champion Hasim Rahman:
“It was never about Klitschko. It was always about the belt. I was in excellent shape (prior to Klitschko cancellation), now I’m in good shape and on March 18 I’m going to be in excellent chape and I’ve got a guy here that’s going to bring it all out of me.”

“I’m the champion, the only champion and once I knock out James Toney, there will be only one champion. He is the toughest guy in the division. THEN the rest of the guys can call me. This win will catapult me to the stratosphere, right where I need to be. Toney is a counter-puncher…an excellent fighter and I will have to bring it way up. I feel like I’m going to knock him out. It’s going to be a fast paced fight.”
