Atlantic City, NJ (January 13, 2006) – Two powerful forces collide on March 18 when world heavyweight champion Hasim “The Rock” Rahman takes on challenger James “Lights Out” Toney in the World Heavyweight Championship. The bout will be presented by Top Rank in association with Caesars Atlantic City and take place at the world famous Boardwalk Hall.

Tickets, priced at $500, $350, $250, $150, $50, go on sale Saturday, January 14 and are available at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-736-1420 or by visiting ticketmaster.com.

At a press conference to announce the fight on Tuesday in New York City, both pugilists advised the media contingent the fight would end by knockout.

“I’m the champion and I will knock out James Toney on March 18,” said “The Rock”. “I’m on a seek-and-destroy mission and this win will catapult me to the stratosphere, right where I need to be.”

“He’s going to go down,” said Toney. “I’m going to put the pain on him, that’s what I’m going to do. I could win a decision but I will knock him out.”

Hasim Rahman (41-5-1, 33 KOs) is a two-time world heavyweight champion from Baltimore, MD. He first won WBC & IBF titles in April, 2001 with a spectacular one-punch knockout against then champion Lennox Lewis. He was recently named WBC heavyweight champion when then title-holder Vitali Klitschko had postponed their mandatory bout three times due to injury before retiring.

James “Lights Out” Toney (69-4-2, 43 KOs) from Grand Rapids, MI has won world titles at middleweight, super middleweight and cruiserweight. He is 15-0-1 in his last 16 bouts and is recognized as the top heavyweight contender.
