Boxer s banging Bollywood night to raise money for flood victims

World champ Amir Khan and Oxfam team up for a spectacular night of fundraising

Boxing superstar Amir Khan and charity organisation Oxfam will be hosting a glitzy Bollywood themed dinner this Sunday 23rd to raise money for victims of the devastating July 2010 Pakistan floods.

The reigning WBA light-welterweight champion will be joined by celebrity guests at the red carpet event, which is taking place at the illustrious De Vere Whites hotel in Bolton. All cash generated from the event will go towards building a Girls Primary School in the Sindh region of Pakistan, a country where over 21 million people have been affected.

Guests at the unique Bollywood night will enjoy a fabulous three course dinner, followed by a traditional night s entertainment that includes performances from the brilliant musical duo Bonafide, dazzling dancing from Brit Asia led by the super talented Jay Kumar, with Mumzy and H Dhami also on show.

As well as this there will be an auction, before a stand-up routine from comedian Kane Brown, who is certain to have the crowd in stitches with his witty one-liners.

World champion Khan said: This night is for a very important cause because so many people are still severely affected in Pakistan by the floods which took place. The television crews have left but there is still so much work to be done in the country to get it back on its feet. We hope through this event we can raise enough money to build a school for the great number of kids whose lives have been destroyed.

This will be an absolutely fantastic night, with hundreds in attendance, and I have no doubt it will prove hugely successful.
