Jason Litzau, 28-2 (21 KO’s) has announced that he has accepted an offer to fight Daniel Ponce de Leon 41-2 (34 KO’s) on the undercard of the Juan Manuel Marquez – Erik Morales PPV on April 9.

Jason stated that “This is a great opportunity for me to fight another World Champion and prove to the world that my victory over Celestino Caballero was not just the upset of the year”.

Jason Litzau is coming off wins against touted prospect Verquan Kimbrough, perennial World Champion contender and Olympic Silver Medalist, Rocky Juarez, and Top Ten Pound-for-Pound fighter and World Champion Celestino Caballero.

Jason Litzau is ranked in the top 5 in the WBC, WBA, and the IBF. Jason says “A win over a great fighter like Ponce de Leon should propel me to the top of the rankings where the current Super-featherweight Champions will be forced to fight me”. “I am very excited to fight on another of Golden Boy Promotion’s big promotions. Oscar De La Hoya has been an idol of mine since I was a kid and he always does what is best for both fighters”. “I also want to thank Square Ring Promotions for putting this deal together”..
