By Special Report on Doghouse Boxing (Feb 11, 2011)

Hitz Boxing will return to the beautiful "Venue" in the Horseshoe Casino, in Hammond, Indiana, on Saturday, April 9 for another night of world-class boxing.

The latest Fight Night at the Horseshoe event will feature Chicago's own "King" Carlos Molina (17-4, 5 KOs) taking on undefeated Ghanaian knockout artist Abdulai Amidu (19-0, 17 KOs) in an all-action super welterweight showdown.

In his last fight, Molina won the NABO Light Middleweight Championship over Danny Perez via 12-round decision. Amidu was last seen winning a decision over Cristian Favela in August last year.

"This is a fantastic fight," said Hitz Boxing Founder, Bobby Hitz. "Carlos is in fantastic shape and highly motivated to get into the mix at 147. And the other kid, Amidu's been sparring with Manny Pacquiao and giving him fits, so you know he's in fantastic shape. This is a terrific match-up for the fans and we're happy to be able to put it on for them. I predict a war."

The night's undercard is packed with up-and-coming young contenders from Chicago and all over the world. Scheduled to appear are: Hammond's own Ruben "Modern Day Warrior" Galvan (27-15-4, 10 KOs) in a welterweight match-up; Abdulai Amidu's brother Yakubu "Black Mamba" Amidu (19-2-1, 16 KOs); Chicago middleweight Mike Kurzeja (4-0, 4 KOs); Chicago super middleweight Ninos Abraham (5-0, 2 KOs); Chicago heavyweight Dave Latoria (7-0, 3 KOs); Hammond-based super featherweight Jeremias Correa (1-0, 1 KO); Chicago junior lightweight Paulie Settepani making his pro debut; and Chicago light welterweight Russell Fiore (4-0-1, 4 KOs) in separate bouts.

The high-class atmosphere and luxurious surroundings the Horseshoe has to offer make their boxing shows a Las Vegas-style night of boxing that Chicago-area fans don't have to get on a plane to enjoy.

The Horseshoe Casino has an intimate, comfortable venue with luxurious seats, a spectacular gaming area, free parking, exquisite food and all the amenities -- and is just 20 minutes from Downtown Chicago.

Tickets for "Fight Night at the Horseshoe" are on sale today (February 11), starting at a fan appreciation price of $10, and are available atthe "Venue" box office, ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets.
