Two hard-hitting, former heavyweight national champions--Tye Fields of Las Vegas and Ed Mahone of Los Angeles-- highlight the undercard of the nationally televised show featuring former world champion Manuel Medina against Javier Alvarez in a 12-round, International Boxing Federation junior lightweight title-elimination bout presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Guilty Boxing Friday, March 24, at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

Between the two of them, Fields and Mahone have 55 knockouts out of their 58 wins. The 31-year-old Fields, a southpaw, with a record of 35-1 with 32 knockouts, meets the 33-year-old Mahone, with a mark of 23-5-2 with 23 knockouts, in a 10-round fight.

The 6-foot-9-1/2-inch, 275-pound Fields, who’s managed by Billy Baxter, is a former United States Boxing Association heavyweight champion while Mahone is a former North American Boxing Organization heavyweight champ.

The 34-year-old Medina, from Tijuana, Mexico, has a record of 65-14 with 31 knockouts while the 28-year-old Alvarez, from Buenos Aires, has a mark of 33-4-1 with 16 knockouts.

Medina was the IBF, World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organization featherweight champion between 1991 and 2003.

The card will be televised by Telefutura as part of its “Solo Boxeo” series.

An eight-round super bantamweight bout features Jonathan Oquendo of Puerto Rico (8-0, 5 KOs) against Larry Olvera of San Pedro, Calif., (6-5-2, 4 KOs).

Six-round undercard fights include cruiserweight Aaron Williams of Las Vegas (6-0-1, 5 KOs) against Alejandro Virgen of Los Angeles (4-4-2, 3 KOs) and featherweight Aaron Garcia of Vista, Calif., (7-0, 2 KOs) against an opponent to be determined.

Four-round undercard bouts include two brothers from Las Vegas making their pro debut, super bantamweight David Hernandez against Allen Martinez of San Diego (0-0-1) and bantamweight Antonio Hernandez against Sergio Mendez of Norwalk, Calif., (2-0, 1 KO).

Guilty Boxing is presenting monthly “Guilty Fight Night” cards at the Orleans and the new South Coast Hotel & Casino this year. “Guilty Fight Night” cards were held at the Orleans and the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino during 2004 and 2005.
