Delvin Rodriguez Wins Award - Star Boxing

Last week at the Grand Hotel and Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Star Boxing's USBA welterweight champion, and IBF #3 rated, Delvin Rodriguez (25-4-2, 14KO's) was honored as the Dominican Republic's boxer of the year at the annual Athlete of the Year awards ceremony. The awards ceremony included the top government officials from the Dominican Republic, as well as famous Dominican merengue singer Fernando Villalona.

"It was a beautiful experience, and a dream come true to receive such an award in front of my entire country," stated Rodriguez, who celebrated his 30th birthday on May 4th. "Being awarded the Best Boxer of the Year, was such an honor to me, and something I will cherish for a life-time. My goal now is to win the world championship and bring the belt back to the Dominican Republic."

"We are very proud that Delvin was elected to receive the Dominican Republic's Best Boxer of the Year award," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. "Delvin is a class act and gentleman both in and out of the ring, and we are happy that his efforts have been recognized by his country."

Rodriguez last fought on April 2nd, defending his USBA championship by winning a unanimous decision over former world-title challenger Mike Arnaoutis at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT.
