Bernard Hopkins Talks about A Brain Transplant....Yes Brain Transplant!
DHB (May 26, 2006)
One huge thing going for June 10th highly anticipated match up - Tarver vs. Hopkins - is both Hopkins and Tarver have the gift of Gab. How good it is to have a promotion where both fighters are excellent speakers. These two must be a promoter's dream.

Hopkins clearly an intelligent man, is always quick to hand out food for thought when he speaks, and in Chuck Johnson's USA Today column, Hopkins speaks about the dangers of his job, and in keeping with his tradition of being a well thought out and interesting speaker, Hopkins draws a parallel with a Brain Transplant.

As quoted in Chuck Johnson's USA Today column, Hopkins said:  "The effect of what I do is very dangerous. Man has done some great things with organ transplants, but they still haven't figured out how to transplant a brain. You only get one of those. I'm smart enough to know that getting hit upside the head isn't good for your health."

Hopkins added: "I will win this fight over Antonio Tarver, cement my legacy and finish my career in a fashion where no one will ever forget what I brought to the boxing ring."
