Mike Tyson is returning to the ring.... but this time, not as a boxer.

According to Bob Raissman of The New York Daily News, Tyson will work ringside as a TV analyst. Tyson will work the international broadcast of Hasim Rahman's WBC heavyweight title defense against Oleg Maskaev.

Tyson got the gig with Promoter Bob Arum's help.

The New York Daily News quotes Bob Arum as saying: "I told Mike I couldn't do anything for him on the domestic telecast because HBO Pay-Per-View has its own team of announcers. When I told him I could select anyone I wanted for the international broadcast, and I would love to have him, Mike said he wouldn't let me down. Having Tyson behind a microphone is going to be very interesting."

Arum added: "I just got a hunch this thing is going to work," Arum said. "If it does, and people see this guy, who obviously has been the central character in boxing for the last decade, Tyson's services could be very attractive to a network looking to launch a boxing series."
