JAYSON VELEZ VS. CARLOS VALCARCEL & EDDIE GOMEZ VS. JONUEL TAPIA LIVE FROM CATAÑO, PUERTO RICO

LOS ANGELES, July 12 - On Friday, July 15, Golden Boy Promotions in association with Promociones Miguel Cotto and H2 Entertainment are proud to present "Electrizante,"another exciting night of boxing action at the Coliseo Cosme Beitia Salamo in Cataño, Puerto Rico, when unbeaten knockout artist Jayson Velez battles hometown favorite Carlos Valcarcel in the 10 round TeleFutura main event for the vacant WBC FECARBOX and WBO Latino 122 lb. titles.

The "Sólo Boxeo Tecate" co-main event will feature a six round junior middleweight contest between the Bronx's Eddie Gomez and Aguas Buenas' Jonuel Tapia.

"Electrizante"is sponsored by Cerveza Tecate and AT&T.  Doors open at 6:00pm, the first bell rings at 6:45pm and the TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:30pm ET / 11:30pm PT (8pm local time).

Tickets, priced at $15, $25 and $50 are on sale now and available for purchase by calling Ticketcenter at (787) 792-5000 and tcpr.com.

With speed, size and power, Juncos junior featherweight Jayson Velez (15-0, 12 KO's) is one of the top prospects to emerge from Puerto Rico in recent years and his rapid improvement with each fight shows that he's ready for the top guns at 122 pounds.  He is the current WBC USNBC champion and the 23-year-old is coming off of a fifth round technical knockout win over John Alberto Molina in February.

Cataño's Carlos Valcarcel (12-2-4, 5 KO's) is a hard-nosed competitor who is well-prepared to stop the rise of Jayson Velez on July 15.  Winner of three in a row since a 2008 defeat at the hands of former World Champion Eric Morel, the 29-year-old Valcarcel has the experience and poise to pull off the upset and he plans on doing just that before his hometown fans.

The Bronx's 18-year-old prodigy, Eddie Gomez (4-0, 3 KO's), may hail from the Big Apple, but he's made quite an impression in Puerto Rico thus far, with the former amateur star having fought three of his four professional bouts on the island, with wins in all three fights coming by way of knockout.  In April, he defeated 4-1-2 prospect Roberto Lopez and things are moving fast for the talented teenager who is ready to keep the momentum going on July 15.

Aguas Buenas' Jonuel Tapia (8-1, 5 KO's) has no fear of a young undefeated prospect, and at just 21 years old, he has just as much upside as his opponent when it comes to potential.  Winner of two in a row, Tapia is primed and ready for a great performance in front of his local Puerto Rico fans.

Tecate, cerveza con carácter, is the largest beer brand to sponsor boxing matches in the U.S. Part of its commitment to make boxing accessible to consumers is the title sponsorship of "Sólo Boxeo Tecate," which creates an opportunity for local fans to witness some of the most exhilarating fights by today's up-and-coming prospects.  Additionally, Tecate has been a primary supporter of Golden Boy Promotions marquee events since 2007, and has launched a variety of initiatives to ensure consumers are part of the boxing experience, including boxer autograph signing sessions, commemorative cans, PPV mail-in rebate offers, and most recently the launch of a mobile museum "Tecate Museo de Boxeo," which showcases decades of the most memorable moments in the sport.
