Guilty Fight Night - Borquez Faces Lopez on July 15

Highly regarded youngster Adalberto Borquez of Tijuana, Mexico, faces veteran Margarito Lopez of Philadelphia in the 10-round super bantamweight event on the nationally and internationally televised “Guilty Fight Night” card presented by Guilty Boxing Friday, July 15, at El Foro in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico..

The hard-hitting 21-year-old Borquez lists a record of 19-1 with 17 knockouts while the aggressive and relentless Lopez has the deceiving record of 8-12-1 with three knockouts.

Borquez already has one win at El Foro this year, on the Guilty Boxing card Jan 28 when he stopped Mario Flores in the 10th round. The 29-year-old Lopez, born in Puebla, Mexico, and raised in Mexico City, has a winning record when fighting at super bantamweight or less.

The five-foot-eight-inch Borquez enjoys a five-inch height and four-and-one-half-inch reach advantage (67 to 62 1/2) over Lopez.

Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are seen domestically on America One, Comcast Sports Chicago, DirecTV, Dish Network and The Urban Network; in Europe, Africa and middle eastern countries on Fox Sports International; in Europe and Africa on BEN Television; in the Caribbean on WCVI Super Station; and in Japan.

Guilty Boxing’s weekly cards are seen in 202 million households worldwide, making Guilty Productions one of the

fastest-growing providers of boxing television programming in the world.

This is another in the ongoing series of “Guilty Fight Night” cards to be held in Tijuana. The innovative Guilty Boxing series was launched during May, 2004, and has presented cards in Las Vegas, California, Arizona and Connecticut as well as Tijuana.

Six-round fights on the nine-bout Guilty Boxing card include: middleweight Octavio Castro of Guyamas, Mexico,

(6-0, 4 KOs) against Ivan Buelna of Culiacan, Mexico, (7-0, 5 KOs); super lightweight Juanito Rodriguez of Tijuana

(5-4, 2 KOs) against Eliseo Urias of Culiacan (4-4, 2 KOs); lightweight Jesus Gonzalez of Tijuana (5-1, 3 KOs) against Charlie Soto of Guasave, Mexico, (5-0-1, 3 KOs); and bantamweight Jesus Vasquez of Culiacan (9-0, 8 KOs) against Marcelino Bojorquez of Los Mochis, Mexico, (0-9).

Four-round fights include: light heavyweight Carlos Virgin of Ensenada, Mexico, (Pro Debut) against Francisco Figueroa of Guasave (0-1); welterweight Fernando Uribe of Mexico City (4-0, 3 KOs) against Miguel Angel Lopez of Guasave

(3-2, 2 KOs); super featherweight Daniel Aguillon of Mexico City (3-0, 2 KOs) against Refugio Contreras of Tijuana

(2-2, 1 KO); and flyweight Rodolfo Alonso Galicia of Tijuana (2-0, 0 KOs) against Gerardo Bojorquez of Guasave

(5-6, 2 KOs).

The Guilty Boxing card starts at 7 p.m. (Pacific) with gates to El Foro opening at 6.

Commentators for Guilty Boxing’s “Guilty Fight Night” telecasts are “The Colonel” Bob Sheridan and Benny Ricardo. Sheridan, a Boxing Hall of Fame inductee, has worked almost 800 world championship bouts on six continents during a career that has spanned more than five decades. Ricardo, for 11 years a place kicker on four NFL teams, also is a veteran announcer and has covered the biggest events in the sports world, ranging from Super Bowls to World Cups.
