WBO World Featherweight Champion Scott Harrison aims to send out a 'Global Warning' with the next defence of his title on Saturday 1 October at the Braehead Arena. The menacing Glasgwegian returns home for a record sixth defence of his title, against a challenger to be named, after travelling to Manchester in his last fight to destroy Michael Brodie inside four rounds in June.
Two-time champ Harrison, Scotland's most successful fighter ever, is chasing a unification showdown against WBC king Injin Chi and WBA holder Juan Manuel Marquez and believes he is back to his best with his performance against Brodie.
"I'm delighted to be back in Glasgow in front of my home fans to defend my title for a record sixth time," said Harrison
"Fighting in Manchester and beating Brodie has got me really fired up again and I want to prove to the world that I'm the number one featherweight in the division,"
"I want to send out a global warning to the other champions with this fight,"
"I am prepared to fight any of them in their backyard. Chi or Marquez, bring them on I'll fight them anywhere anytime,"
27-year-old Harrison has even more reason to impress. This will be his debut in front of a live terrestrial television audience with the fight going out on primetime ITV1.
He added, "ITV have a long history in the featherweight division and have featured every major champion from Britain in the last 20 years including Barry McGuigan, Paul Hodkinson, Colin McMillan, Steve Robinson and Naseem Hamed and now it's my turn,"
"It's a list of great names and I believe I'm up there with the best of them if not better. It's a fantastic opportunity for me to really show in front of a live TV audience what I can do and I aim to do it."
Whilst Harrison is the present, the future is certainly in the hands of wonderboy Amir Khan.
The Olympic Silver Medallist fights in Scotland for the first time and appears on the undercard of Harrison as a special attraction.
Khan, 18, captured the nations hearts with his heroics in Athens and now he wants to fights all around the country so that his fans get to see him in action.
The hard-hitting youngster aims to become Britain's youngest ever World champion and is on the fast track route following his devastating 109 second victory over David Bailey in his pro debut.
First though, Khan has to come through his fight against Baz Carey on September 10 at the Cardiff International Arena.
A cracking all-Scottish showdown on the card pits Edinburgh's unbeaten star Gary Young against Fauldhouse's undefeated Colin McNeil over ten-rounds at welterweight.
Glasgow favourite Willie Limond returns to action after claiming the Celtic Super-Featherweight title, to add to his European Union crown, with his victory over Belfast's Kevin O'Hara in his last fight. Limond features in an eight-round contest.
Record-breaking Lonsdale belt winner Ryan Rhodes is closing in on a third world-title shot and keeps active with an eight-round middleweight contest.
Completing the card are Coatbridge super-feather Ricky Burns and Belfast welterweight Stephen Haughian.
