Sports Network is delighted to announce that it has captured the signature of one of the hottest young talents in British boxing: "Kid" Kell Brook. The 18-year-old Sheffield prospect joins boxing's premier promotional organisation and will spearhead the future of the sport alongside the likes of the sensational Olympic Silver Medallist Amir Khan and the 2003 ABA Champion Kevin Mitchell..
Brook, currently undefeated in pro-eight starts, will make his Sports Network debut on the star-studded undercard of Joe Calzaghe's WBO World Super-Middleweight title defence against Evans Ashira on September 10 at the Cardiff International Arena.
The charismatic teenager is already receiving accolades from some of the sports most respected quarters. Most recently, Boxing News (August 12) carried a full-page article on the young talent. Now, after signing for Sports Network he will receive the full backing of Frank Warren's publicity machine and gain the valuable terrestrial TV exposure required to turn him into a major household name.
Warren enthused, "I am very, very excited to have Kell on board as I have heard so much about him from people in the game whose opinion I respect,"
He continued, "His father and I had a discussion about Kell and we shared the same ideas on how best to develop him,"

Fans who have yet to see the talent of Brook at first hand will immediately recognise the heavy-handed switch-hitting style that has been honed at Brendan Ingle's famous Wincobank gym since the age of nine. He will bring back memories of a young Naseem Hamed who, himself, is a big fan of the Sheffield youngster.
Despite learning his trade under the tutelage of the Ingle dynasty, Brook has decided to pursue fresh avenues to reach his goal of first British and then world championships. Following an amicable parting with former Manager John Ingle, Brook will now be trained by former Central Area Champion Dave Coldwell, himself a product of the Ingle gym and will now be managed by Warren. He will train alongside record-breaking Lonsdale Belt winner Ryan Rhodes at the Koncrete gym in Sheffield.
"Quite simply, I want to be a world champion and be famous, like Naz," Said Brook.
"Teaming up with Frank was the logical step. I want to be the best so I need the best behind me and Frank has proven himself so with his backing I can do the same,"
"Frank can guide my career whilst I can concentrate on training and fighting. Brendan, John and Dominic have helped me get this far and have nurtured me from the age of 9 through the amateurs and as a novice professional."
He added, "They will have my gratitude always and we will remain friends, however, from a personal and business prospective, I felt I needed to step up a level and create a new challenge and with Frank's help feel I can achieve what I set out to do when I first laced a glove."
New trainer Dave Coldwell said, "I was amazed to get the call inviting me to train Kell Brook, he is a fantastic talent and could, if he works hard, be one of the best to come from Sheffield,"
"I don't want to add to the pressure already being heaped on Kell from some quarters but I feel he can emulate what Herol 'Bomber' Graham and Naz did for the City and make sure Sheffield stay's on the boxing map for many years to come,"
"I remember clearly the day Kell walked into Brendan's Gym as a raw kid and immediately everyone thought hang-on, this kid has talent, real talent.
"Ask any of them, Naz, Johnny both are World Champions and they will tell you - this kid can fight,"

Calzaghe headlines the show with the 17th defence of his title against Ashira and special attraction on the undercard features Olympic Silver Medallist Amir Khan in his second professional fight against Baz Carey to be televised live on ITV1.
The rest of the undercard features an exciting welterweight clash between Belfast hitter Neil Sinclair and Cardiff's Lee 'Taz' Jones for the Vacant Celtic crown.
Finally, Pontypool's unbeaten welterweight Tony Doherty, Rhondda Valley light-welter Barrie Jones, Newbridge welterweight Nathan Cleverley and Merthyr middleweight Kerry Hope complete the card.
