(MIAMI, FLA.) – WBC Welterweight World Champion Andre Berto (Winter Haven, Fla.) will join fellow professional boxing stars in a nationwide launch of a new boxing workout created by Everlast and 24 Hour Fitness on Saturday. Berto will take part in the Everlast Shadow Box Workout on Saturday at the Town & Country 24 Hour Fitness location in Miami, Fla. He is headlining the launch of the unique workout in his home state of Florida, participating in the 45-minute class on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

“I am excited to join Everlast and 24 Hour Fitness in showcasing the fitness benefits of a boxing workout,” Berto said. “This class will give people across the country a taste of the sport and show them how much fun it can be while giving them a great workout. I look forward to the chance to meet some of my fans in Miami and participate in the Everlast Shadow Box Workout.”

Berto will showcase the skills that have taken him to his unblemished 26-0 record and the WBC welterweight crown during the Everlast Shadow Box Workout. The class utilizes traditional boxing conditioning methods broken into 12, three-minute rounds that alternate between punch combos and conditioning exercises to deliver an authentic boxing workout.

Following the class, Berto will take photos and sign autographs for the club members in attendance. While Berto is leading the Florida launch, fellow welterweight Shane Mosley will participate in the Costa Mesa event in California and light welterweight Paulie Malignaggi will take part in the New York City class.

Fitness initiatives are close to Berto’s heart, and he took the battle to Capitol Hill in 2008 on behalf of Senator Tim Harkin’s Physical Activities Guidelines for Americans Act. Berto joined basketball legend Clyde Drexler and Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes in championing the legislation. His older brother, Cleveland, who assisted in Berto’s training camp for his recent fight, currently works as a personal trainer at a 24 Hour Fitness location in Santa Monica, Calif.
