Antonio Margarito is a name on everyone's lips these days. His offer of 8 million dollars to Floyd Mayweather jr may have fallen on Jr's deaf ears, but the fans heard it loud and clear. Recently Margarito dropped by the Message Boards at MaxBoxing. Margarito answered many of the questions on the minds of fans. When hitting the subject of Mayweather Jr. and his reluctant mood to face Margarito, Margarito held no punches back.

Treuwest662 of the MaxBoards asked: Can you please tell us what is going on with negotiations with Floyd and did you want to turn down the Winky fight or was that something Bob Arum wanted to do?

Margarito's response: I really what Floyd’s situation is. I don’t think he is afraid of me… I think he is terrified of me.

He is at the point where he is running out of excuses.

I honestly don’t understand his thinking really. I know he wants a lot of money but there is a lot of money in fighting me. Where else is he going the money he is going to get fighting me? I am tired of this and it is time to move one. I mean I get a call from Bob saying he doesn’t want to fight me then he does and to be honest he is playing games with me, my career, and the fans who want to see this fight so forget about him its time to move on

DJA of the MaxBoards asked: IF you fight Mayweather, how will you deal with his advantages in hand and foot speed, defensive prowess and ring generalship?

Margarito's repsonse: Mayweather does not carry the punch, enough speed or the power to hurt me. I won't say knock me out because I know for a fact he would never knock me out! I would overwhelm him with size. If you think I overwhelm my opponents I would double overwhelm Mayweather. I would keep him out of his rhythym and trap him in the corners where he would feel my power and size. He would run for about 4 rounds but after that I would break him down and take him out.

OAR11 of MaxBoards asked: I don't know if you are allowed to tell us this sort of thing but what reason has Floyd given for turning you down so many times? Legacy? Money? Options? What is up?

Margarito: You know it's funny but all the reasons he is giving me for him not fighting me should be the reasons for him to fight me. I mean he says he is faster better and would beat me easily yet he makes reason after reason as to why a fight with me isn't happening. Reasons? Sounds more like excuses and with 8 million on the table he should do it I mean where else is he going to make that money? Nowhere.
