Julio Cesar Chávez
Defeats Willie Wise Nov 24, 2003 TIJUANA, Mexico - In front of a crowd of 10,000 Boxing Fans, Legendary Julio Cesar Chávez has defeated Willie Wise by stopping Wise in the second round of their scheduled bout. The bout was stopped by the ringside Doctor because of a deep cut sustained by Wise over his left eye when he unintentionally clashed heads with Chávez. With this victory, Chávez avenges his lost to Wise which occurred back in 1999, and sets up his final fight which will be against Hector Macho Camacho in January 2004. Chávez's lengthy record now improves to an impressive 105-5-2, (85 knockouts.) Although many critics and Fans have for years now have wanted Julio Cesar Chávez to hang up the gloves, the highly regarded Ex-Champ continues to fight and continues to show critics and skeptics alike that even at 41 years of age and a long lustrous career, he still has what it takes. On the same card, lightweight Julio Cesar Chávez Jr., (Chávez's son), won his second professional fight by first round knockout. Other Recent Headlines:
