Calzaghe and Enzo meet Sylvester Stallone; Enzo wants Role in Rambo Movie

Joe Calzaghe met Sylvester Stallone last Friday during a gala boxing dinner, reports the Wales On Sunday. Wales on Sunday also reveals that Stallone will be ringside at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in three months' time when Calzaghe takes on Peter Manfredo Jr.

Calzaghe said of the meeting with the famed Movie star:,"Sly was great. He's just a normal guy. He turned up for the dinner by himself. There was no entourage. He said he wanted to meet me after seeing my recent win against Jeff Lacy. He said he
was a fan of mine and had seen me fight many times but I told him I had seen him fight a lot more in the movies."

Calzaghe added: "I value Sly's opinion. He's in great nick for a man of 60. He has the body of a 30-year-old. It was great to hear him tell us about Hollywood. Enzo even asked if there may be a part for him in the new Rambo film but Sly just laughed!"

Enzo Maccarinelli, the current WBO world cruiserweight champion who was also on hand at the gala event, said: "Sly was great and didn't act like the big Hollywood star at all.

"He turned up by himself in jeans, a shirt and a coat. I told him how I loved one of his first films, Paradise Alley, but he didn't realise it had been released in the UK! He was a true gentleman."

Wales on Sunday also reported that a spokesman for Frank Warren said: "Sly really wanted to meet Joe Calzaghe. He drew up a list of boxers he wanted to meet during his trip to the UK and Joe was right at the top. He saw Joe fight Jeff Lacy and was very impressed. Sly is a fan."
