Bernard Hopkins speaks about fight with Roy Jones Jr in July

Bernard Hopkins was in attendance Saturday night as Samuel Peter defeat James Toney over 12 rounds in their rematch at the Hard Rock resort.  Hopkins who recently announced his comitment to a comeback to the sport after retiring last year, made another major announcement on Saturday.  It was thought that Hopkins would fight as a Heavyweight in his return. It turns out, this is not the case.

Hopkins told ESPN.com he is in negotiations to face rival Roy Jones Jr. in a July 21 HBO PPV rematch.

Hopkins told ESPN: "We're talking to Roy. We'd both like the fight." Hopkins also told ESPN that the financial split would be 60-40 in his favor.

In respect to his conditioning at this time, Hopkins said: "I'm about 185 or 190 right now, but I will be back at 175 and be in great shape."
