Mayweather Sr speaks out on De La Hoya and Mayweather Jr

Some critics and even fans a like openly wonder why Floyd Mayweather Sr. is considering training his pupil, Oscar De La Hoya to defeat his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr. According to a report out by The Press-Enterprise says Mayweather appears happy to train Oscar De La Hoya for his showdown with Mayweather Jr on May 5th.

In regards to critics, Mayweather Sr quoted by The Press-Enterprise, said: "People don't understand I was training Oscar before little Floyd wanted to fight him. So why should I have to stop? I didn't tell little Floyd to fight him."

In regards to the money he is asking for, Mayweather Sr. said: "First, both Oscar and little Floyd are getting much more than they normally get, so why can't I get mine? I got to be compensated."

Mayweather Sr added: "Second, he's fighting my son. I'm the one who taught him all he knows."

Mayweather Sr. understands why he is an important factor in this fight, stating:. "If Oscar wants to beat little Floyd, he has to come to me. I'm not saying he can't beat Floyd without me, because he does have a puncher's chance. But I got all the answers because little Floyd learned all he knows from me."
