The scheduled arraignment for HBO announcer Jim Lampley, who is accused of assaulting his fiancee and violating a temporary restraining order, has been postponed Wednesday. The reason it was postponed was to give prosecutors more time to investigate. The case was referred by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department to the District Attorney's Office Tuesday. Paul Levikow, a DA's spokesman, said more time was needed to investigate.

It was unknown when the hearing might be rescheduled, Levikow said.

A hearing is scheduled for Thursday on whether to extend a temporary restraining order. The order by Judge Joseph Brannigan bars Lampley from coming within 100 yards of Sanders, her home, employment and her vehicle. It also keeps him from contacting her in any way.

Lampley has also been ordered to return a 2007 BMW 750 that the accuser claims is hers.
