Degonzaque's Boxing Prediction for Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao

This is supposedly "The Dream Match", but even if it is that, it's come much too late. Oscar De La Hoya hasn't been a top fighter in years and at least point is only a part time performer, showing up for cameo's when the money is right. He has only won 3 of his last 6 fights with his wins only coming over journeyman like Steve Forbes, Ricardo Mayorga and Felix Sturm (and De La Hoya still needed a gift from the judges to get past Strum.)

In his last fight, he looked unimpressive against a smaller journeyman in Forbes, who was able to hit De
La Hoya much more than he should have. If Forbes was able to get to De La Hoya, then I'm sure the p4p #1 fighter in the world will be able to connect and hurt the aging De La Hoya.

Look for De La Hoya to look respectable for the first 4-5 rounds of the fight, but Pacquiao will take over the fight as the rounds go on. De La Hoya will have more and more trouble keeping up. Pacquiao will control the second half of this fight with his speed and offense. Pac will not be able to knock De La Hoya out, but he will win.

Final Prediction:
Pacquiao wins by decision.
