Amir Khan vs Paulie Malignaggi: Is Everything Really OK?
By Steve Kim, MaxBoxing (May 7, 2010) Special to Doghouse Boxing
Everyone is saying that everything is being handled as it relates to Amir Khan, who is going through some immigration issues, that are keeping him out of the country (and away from the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California) as he prepares for next Saturday's bout against Paulie Malignaggi in New York.

But my question is this, why did the issues of his work visa take so long to handle and don’t you think it’s a bit of a problem that less than 10 days before his Stateside debut, that he and his trainer, Freddie Roach (who I hear is coming back from Canada tonight/tomorrow) might be seperated?

I don’t know, but if I’m involved in this promotion, I’d be a bit antsy and get someone warmed up in the bullpen. Perhaps someone like Breidis Prescott (best known for KO’ing Khan in one round), who just happens to be on this undercard at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden.

It’s not like I really care about this fight, style-wise, I think it could be a bit of a stinker, but boxing is boxing. And I am looking forward to Victor Ortiz-Nate Campbell, which is slated to open up that HBO broadcast.
