Boxing Notes on Amir Khan vs Paulie Malignaggi, Lennox Lewis, Devon Alexander and more
By Steve Kim, MaxBoxing (May 9, 2010) Special to Doghouse Boxing
I heard from multiple sources a couple of hours ago that Amir Khan, who was going through some immigration issues, has been cleared to re-enter the States, and his bout with Paulie Malignaggi is a good to go for next week at the WaMu Theater in Madison Square Garden. To be honest, it’s not really that fight I care about, Im much more concerned about the fight between Victor Ortiz and Nate Campbell, which opens up that HBO broadcast.

An announcement was made by HBO that Lennox Lewis would be leaving the broadcast team for ’Boxing After Dark’. I’ll have more on this later, but it’s about time. I know that they are actively looking for replacements, but even if they don’t this is addition by subtraction. He was George Foreman without the charm and folksy humor.

Lou DiBella tells that everything is set for the IBF light heayweight title bout between Tavoris Cloud and Glen Johnson on August 7th. Jr. Welterweight standout Devon Alexander, who doesn’t have an opponent as of yet, is headlining that HBO telecast from St. Louis.
