Can We Now Move on from Manny Pacquiao - Floyd Mayweather?

OK, yes, it’s an absolute disaster that the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is not going to take place in 2010. I get it. And I realize we have to have the obligatory,’ this is the worst thing ever for boxing’ storylines that will invariably pop up for awhile. But I can’t lie, I had Pac-May fatigue a long time ago.

I think it’s time to move on- and get this- actually focus on the fights that are taking place in the ring. I think by talking about this issue ad naseum, we do a disservice to boxers who are actually doing what we would like them to do - fight.

Sorry, but I’m not big on the whole ’fight to save boxing’ storylines. Sorry, but no fight is ever big enough or will live up to that hype to possibly ’save’ this industry. There are actually more problems than just one fight not taking place.

But enough, can we all just move on now and get back to covering fights?
