Boxing Flurries on Zab Judah, Brandon Rios, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Matt Remillard and More

While there was an official release regarding the November 6th show that will feature Zab Judah and Lucas Matthysse from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ that will headline HBO’s “Boxing After Dark," there was no such announcement as it related to the November 20th rematch between Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez, although they were both in the HBO graphic this past weekend detailing their upcoming fight...

The star of this past weekend was Brandon “Bam Bam” Rios (pictured above) who beat Anthony Peterson via DQ. Rios is an all-action, fan-friendly fighter; now we’ll see if HBO will find room for such a fighter. Give me him any day of the week over the likes of Chad Dawson... And yes, he and Victor Ortiz have no love lost for each other. Hailing from Garden City, Kansas is about the only thing those two have in common...

Is it just me or is Yuriorkis Gamboa’s chin really high and exposed?...

A press release was sent out from TKO Boxing that Matt Remillard would be performing on Oct. 29th at the Mohegan Sun, which I guess means he won’t be facing Celly Caballero in late November. So do we end up with Caballero-Jason Litzau? Not really that high on that match-up...

Had a great time in Columbus, Ohio. Jacory Harris did a bad impersonation of Vinny Testaverde out there at “The Horseshoe” and you simply can’t turn the ball over against a Jim Tressell-led ball club. They are simply too disciplined and well-coached to beat them at home that way. Still a fun trip was had by all....
