RATINGS GAME - Notes on Andre Berto, Bob Arum, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and More

As always, John Chavez of theBoxingTruth.com has an inside scoop on the ratings of HBO boxing broadcasts: http://theboxingtruth.com/

I don't really have much to add but I found it interesting that, as it related to Andre Berto's purse of $910,000 for facing no-hoper Freddie Hernandez, what ended up being a very good night of boxing this past weekend at the Honda Center in Anaheim (sans Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and the whole card taking away what Junior was supposed to receive, which I was told was $650,000), didn't cost Top Rank that much. In fact, I'm told it cost a little over half of what HBO doled out to Berto/Haymon.

And if you saw the broadcast or heard his comments in the arena, it was Bob Arum being Bob Arum again, as he expressed to the audience what he thought of some of the executives making the decisions for the networks..
