Lightweight Dannie Williams now fighting out of Youngstown, Ohio scored a second round knockout over unheralded John Willoughby, 3-11 (2) of Atlanta. Trainer Jack Loew said that he was pleased with Williams’ performance but acknowledged the fact that it was against lousy opposition.

It’s a sad commentary on the Missouri Office of Athletics for allowing a bout between a legitimate prospect like Williams and a guy who’s nothing more than a poor opponent, even on the chitlin’ circuit.

The Youngstown Vindicator reported after the fight that Williams is now scheduled to fight on January 6th in Key West on the season premiere of “Friday Night Fights.” However, a press release from Lou DiBella made no mention of Williams appearing on the “FNF” card.
