So Much for the Mike Lee Experiment

Allen Medina is pretty bad.
He looks like a guy that would be flown in from Colorado to get an easy knockout
for an overhyped local prospect. I last saw Medina in April when he arrived
from Denver to Philly and was knocked senseless in about minute by local
prospect Patrick Majewski. That was a middleweight bout. So this time the
flight leaving Denver landed in New York and Medina was set to face Top Rank light
heavyweight prospect Mike Lee from Notre Dame.
It’s an easy two-step
process. You hit him; he falls. “You call,; we fall.” But Mike Lee did hit
Medina (Saturday night featured on the Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito undercard at Madison Square Garden) and he didn’t fall, so Lee hit him harder…still nothing. Finally, in the
fourth round, Medina succumbed and Lee improved to 8-0 (5).
But Mike Lee’s a fraud.
Perhaps Bob Arum is looking to suck a few dollars from the Fighting Irish
faithful. Maybe Lee can be on the PPV card when Butterbean comes back to fight
Kimbo Slice but Mike Lee won’t be fighting anyone of consequence ever. He’ll
make some money until a true fighter, perhaps a journeyman, rips him to shreds
and this experiment will be done.
