Saul Alvarez
On Saturday HBO brought Saul Alvarez and his return to his hometown of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, Mexico .

Saul Alvarez, the 2010 ESPN Prospect of the Year is the youngest brother of Ramon Alvarez, Ricardo Alvarez and former interim WBA World Champion Rigoberto Alvarez. He made his professional debut in October of 2005, just three months after his 15th birthday. He won the World Boxing Council Light Middleweight Title (2011- ).

Meanwhile, Alvarez faired well in his homecoming performance taking care of what he had to do while making the first defense of his WBC junior middleweight title.

Alvarez improved his record to a telling 37-0-1 with 27 KOs. Rhodes was over matched and swept over from the start of the fight.

Alvarez, the 2004 Silver Medalist at the Junior Mexican National Championships and 2005 Junior Mexican National Boxing Champion controlled much of the entire bout with his controlling power and dropped Rhodes in the fourth round. Alvarez kind of rested and seemed to back off in the middle rounds.

During the very end of the brawl, Rhodes all of a sudden got a bit of energy in round twelve and opened up with more fury to try to score his own KO victory.

On that note, the muscular Saul Canelo Alvarez took advantage, hurting Rhodes badly enough that the referee seen enough and called it off in the final text.

It was a sweeping victory for Alvarez who was born ‘Santos Saul Alvarez Barragan,’ and looked like an easy night for the boyish looking 20 year old.
