Super Flyweight Martin Castillo wants a rematch with Nobua Nashiro who defeated him in July last year, saying, “I know I can beat him, after I get my title back I wouldn’t mind fighting him again,” he said.

Castillo who defeated Jorge Romero recently, was desperate to get back in the ring and shake off the ring rust and the put the Nashiro defeat behind him.

“Beating Romero was the perfect result after the disappointment of the Nashiro fight. I was able to get some rounds in after being off for so long and got a KO. It felt good to get back in the ring, but I did feel some of the ring rust. But I will keep working hard in the gym and continue to get better.”

‘El Gallo’ whose 2 losses from 33 fights have both come from cuts has also gone the extra mile to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

“I had surgery on my eyes after the Nashiro fight. They removed the scar tissue and shaved down my eyebrows bone. I know it's a serious surgery, but this is how serious I take boxing. Both of my losses have been by cuts. And I feel I have made an attempt to improve,” the Mexican said.

The 30 year old is already back in the gym following the Romero fight, as he aims to be in top shape when his next fight comes around.

“We haven’t got a date for my next fight yet. But I'm already back in the gym and whenever my manager Frank Espinoza and my promoter Top Rank want me back in the ring, I will be ready. My dad told me when I was a kid ‘you win the fights in the gym.’ In other words train hard and give it everything you have,” he revealed
