WBO super middleweight boxing champion Arthur Abraham, 42-4-(28), retained his title with a clear and concise 12 round unanimous decision win over Paul Smith, 35-6-(20), in their rematch at the O2 World arena in Berlin, Germany on Saturday night.

Their first meeting saw Abraham clinching a controversial points win but there was no mistake this time around with the judges making the Armenian boxer a 117-111 twice and 116-112 winner.

Abraham upped the pace after a slow start to pretty much control the fight. Smith was determined to turn the fight around but Abraham was just too strong down the stretch.

On the undercard Britain’s David Price scored a sixth round stoppage win over Irineu Beato Costa Junior. Price was in control from the start before scoring three knockdowns in round six.

In a light heavyweight bout Mirco Ricci scored a surprise win over the previously unbeaten Enrico Koelling to win the WBA intercontinental title The scores were 117-112 and 116-112 twice.
