Arthur Abraham Retains WBO Title In Berlin

WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham retained his title with a 12 round unanimous decision against Nikola Sjekloca at the Velodrom in Berlin, Germany on Saturday.

Abraham made a solid start against Sjekloca early displaying speed and power but hurt his right hand in the middle rounds and fought mostly with one hand fro the remainder of the fight. Abraham won by scores of 116-113, 116-112, 119-110.

On the undercard Pablo Sosa, 3-3-3-(2), sprang a surprise on former European champion Eduard “Eddy” Gutknecht 25-3-1-(9), by holding him to an eight round draw. The scores were 77-75, 76-76, 75-77.
