Boxing results and report. Dejan Zlaticanin put paid to any chance Ricky Burns had of regaining his WBO lightweight title at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland when the former champ was out-pointed over 12 rounds.

Zlaticanin, who claimed the WBC International lightweight title, won via split decision by Scores of 115-113 on two judges cards while the third went for Burns by the same score. Burns was down in the first round.

Zlaticanin started the fight fast and decked Burns with a shot to the chin inside the first 20 seconds. The knockdown seems to have stunned the Scottish boxer for pretty much the first half of the fight until he Burns stepped up the pace. Although Burns made a good recovery After round six it proved too late.

Zlaticanin extended his unbeaten career record to 18-0

In the co main event It Willie Limond finally achieved his British title dream with 12 round majority decision win over light welterweight champion Curtis Woodhouse.

The 35-year-old Limond decked Woodhouse with an uppercut in the third round and again with a right uppercut in the 11th.

Limond, was a clear winner on two judges cards by scores of 117-109 and 116-111 but the third official somehow made it a draw with 113 a piece.

“It’s taken me 13 years to get it,” Limond told Sky Sports afterwards. “It was a great fight and Curtis pushed me all the way. I think I needed Curtis to do that to make me perform.

“I think I just caught him off balance a bit. That was 12 weeks. I knew I had to train hard because I knew Curtis was fit.

“I’d watched every one of Curtis’ fights since he’d turned pro. I feel I performed the best I could at the age I’m at.”
