Former pound for pound king Roy Jones Jr. scored a clear and unanimous 12 round decision win over Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf at the Dynamo Sport Palace in Moscow, Russia on Saturday.
As expected Benmakhlouf tried to make a name for himself by taking the fight to Jones Jr but even Jones’s vast experience proved too much for the Frenchman. In securing the clear 120-108, 119-109 and 118-111 points win Jones Jr. secured the WBU cruiserweight title.
Jones Jr. said after the fight that he wants to fight either UFC fighter Anderson Silva or former foes James Toney or Denis Lededev.
In the main event middleweight Dmitry Chudinov scored a sixth stoppage over Juan Camilo Novoa to win the vacant WBA interim middleweight title.
