Miguel Cotto
SecondsOut.com - Miguel Cotto is the latest big name opponent tipped to face Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on May 5.

It is believed that Cotto was one of the four men in the frame to fight Manny Pacquiao, some time in June, but as "Pacman" will only fight at 147lbs, a Cotto rematch now seems highly unlikely. Cotto is said to prefer fighting at no less than 150lbs.

The Sport Press learned that Golden Boy Promotions, who work with Mayweather Jr., made a firm offer to face Cotto, who is now a free agent. As the month of January is near its end Team Mayweather will be looking to make an announcement very soon.
