WBO #1 contender Denis Lebedev scored a vicious 10th round knockout against American boxing legend Roy Jones Jr at the Sport Complex Krylatskoe in Moscow, Russia on Saturday night.

For a time the future Hall of Famer turned back the clock to sporadically produce some of the skills that earned him the status as the world’s pound for pound No.1 but eventually the cruder, stronger Lebedev, 22-1-(17), who applied constant pressure, caught up with Jones and brutally unleashed a combination of clubbing right hands to stun Jones before knocking him out cold. Time of the stoppage was 2.59 of the 10th.

Lebedev’s trainer, the former junior welterweight champ, Kostya Tszyu said after the fight that he will now try and match Lebedev with Australian IBO cruiserweight champ Danny Green.

On the undercard Russian super bantamweight Alexander Bakhtin (27-0, 11 KOs) scored 10 round unanimous decision win over Jose Angel Beranza (33-20-2, 26 KOs). The judges scored the fight 100-90 (twice) and 100-91, all for Bakhtin.

Unbeaten Ukrainian NABF light heavyweight champion Ismayl Sillakh (16-0, 13 KOs) stopped Ugandan Hamza Wandera (12-3-2, 11 KOs) in the third round. Ismayl dropped Wandera in the third session and was able to continue but Sillakh jumped all over him immediately, leaving the referee no choice but to stop the fight.

On the same card American former undisputed lightweight champion Nate Campbell (34-8-1, 25 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision againstr Sherzod Nazarov The scores were 79-73, 79-74 and 80-74.
