Wladimir Klitschko speaks - Opens The Door To David Haye

SecondsOut.com on Doghouse Boxing. World heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko has said that he is still open to facing David Haye in a rematch despite soundly out-pointing him in Germany over a year ago.

Haye redeemed himself a couple of weeks ago by impressively taking out Dereck Chisora in London, thus putting himself back in the frame for a big money clash with either Wladimir or his elder brother Vitali, who holds the WBC heavyweight crown. But with Vitali booked to face Manuel Charr in September and the prospect of retirement Wladimir could again face Haye.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ ringside programme Wladimir said: "It’s very difficult to follow what David Haye wants - retirement, not retirement - fighting or not fighting Vitali or me, fighting someone else.

"Eventually he was fighting me which was great following all the talk, and I think the chances are there (for another Klitschko fight).

"And as I said, I think that David became a better person and I hope that he is more reliable than he used to be.

Wladimir added: "We’ll see the next step. The next step is for Vitali to fight. It’s very important for him to win the fight and then we’ll continue to talk."
