By SecondsOut.com on Doghouse Boxing. By Derek Bonnett: Between day one of Olympic boxing and the action produced by SecondsOut ranked fighters, fight-fans have had plenty to keep them busy. A top ranked contender got busted.

A former world champion moved up to a new division. A SecondsOut number one took a deserved breather and top ranked flyweight kept active with more business as usual.

All this and more as boxing’s best remain on the move.

On the Move turns two next week!

On Friday, July 27, at Resorts Hotel and Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA, Henry Lundy struggled to make the lightweight limit and lost to Raymundo Beltran in a ten round lightweight bout. After suffering a cut in the third, Beltran captured a majority decision by scores of 95-95 and 96-94 twice. Beltran elevated his ring credentials to 26-6 (17). Lundy dropped to 22-2-1 (11).

Lundy dropped out of the SecondsOut lightweight rankings for the time being. The previously ranked seven through ten contenders each climb one ranking. Alisher Rahimov once again returns to the top ten.

On Saturday, July 28, in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico: Orlando Salido stopped Moises Gutierrez in three rounds of a super featherweight non-title bout. The time of the TKO came at 2:49 of the round. Salido improved his dossier to 39-11-2 (27). Gutierrez fell to 21-5 (8).

Salido held onto his number one ranking among featherweights at SecondsOut.

Also on the same evening, at Domo De La Feria, Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, Edgar Sosa forced Shingetaka Ikehara into eighth round retirement in a flyweight bout. The Japanese fighter surrendered at the 3:00 mark. Sosa improved his ledger to 46-7 (28). Ikehara fell to 22-4-2 (18).

Sosa remained SecondsOut’s number eight ranked boxer in a highly competitive division.

Also on this night, at HP Pavilion, San Jose, California, USA, Robert Guerrero decisioned Selcuk Aydin in a twelve round interim WBC welterweight title bout. Guerrero, recently ranked at lightweight by SecondsOut, jumped two weight classes after a fifteen month layoff. Guerrero raised his record to 30-1-1 (18). Aydin dipped to 23-1 (17).

Andre Berto was dropped to inactivity. Guerrero crashed SecondsOut’s 147-pound standings at number seven. Aydin fell from eighth to tenth. The previously ranked number nine and ten contenders each moved up one ranking.
