Katie Taylor became the first Olympic female lightweight champion at
the Excel Centre in London on Thursday by defeating Russian girl Sofya
Ochigavia by 10 to 8.
Taylor trailed by a score of 4-3 after the second session but won
the third 4-1 to edge ahead by a score of 7-5. Taylor then edged further
ahead to end the bout by a score of 10-8. .
